The fountain pen Toledo is the art of damasquinado, it is millennial. It consists of decorating objects made of steel or iron making drawings by means of the coinage of fine gold threads on the normally paved steel surface. This technique traveled with the Arabs to Spain and has been perfecting over the centuries, especially in the famous Spanish city of Toledo. In 1931 Pelikan adopted for the Toledo model, with such success that the design has remained practically unchanged during all these years. Nowadays, the decorative strip is made of a single piece of sterling silver. This is because the tiny engravings of the motif are done by hand, making every plumage of the pelican come alive differently. Cap in black resin, gold plated clip and 18-carat gold nib.
